Cool spot, seem to be busy enough. Menu looks great but lobster roll totally not worth the price for how little you get. Hope they do ok.
As other reviews say, hidden robbery. Definitely stop in Portland for anything before coming here. They don't mark the price of their items, so it's a mystery until you get to the register. Not to mention, they use those iPad registers, so even if you're just buying a 6 pack, they will still ask you for a tip. Also, there is no bathroom, even for customers.
I wanted to try and give higgins beach market multiple chances only because I grew up in the area and always loved this place. But unfortunately it’s not worth the money anymore. Ordered a chicken salad sandwich which cost $18 (this is including a $3 tip). Something told me to open the sandwich up before I left because it was so small! there was barely a schmear of chicken salad in the sandwich when I picked it up. With one slice of tomato and a small piece of lettuce. Kindly asked if it was possible to add more seeing I paid a total of $18. They did. But the quality of the salad was not good at all. So many herbs and spices I never ended up eating it. I miss the old days there where portions were decent, and the food was worth paying.
Neat little place. Stopped here with the pup. Dog friendly. Awesome lobster rolls. Option of 1/2 pound or full pound. Of course had to try out the full pound. Will stop by again. If you are in the area you should check it out, it also sits on a pretty popular bike route.
No prices posted so you don't find out until you get to the register that a pint of icecream is $10. Literally $10. And it was some weird local brand, didn't taste good.
Everything was extremely overpriced.
Highway robbery. $14 for a chicken salad on regular bread. Was starving when I bought it and only had two bites. Went all day without eating instead.
Huge rip off, absolutely not worth the high price. Very small sandwiches with very little meat. I’m not sure how they get away with calling their Italian an Italian. Steer clear
The good:
The food is pretty solid. Breakfast sandwiches are fantastic, some of the in house sauces and chili crisp they sell are great. Can't say the food itself has ever really disappointed.
The bad:
A bit pricey and the service is super inconsistent. So far they've left things out of my order around 50% of the time so definitely check that you have everything you ordered before you leave.
